The computer of the
Astray Blue Frame
contains specifications for a variety of optional weapons and equipment, allowing mercenary pilot Gai Murakumo to adapt the Blue Frame to the needs of any mission. The armor plates of this underwater version, which Gai uses to defend the Gigafloat
mass driver,
are covered with tiny scales that vibrate to propel the
mobile suit
through the water. Although this
scale system
gives the Blue Frame superb underwater mobility, its diving depth is relatively limited, since the mobile suit itself is not built to resist high pressures. Specialized sensors such as active and passive sonar have been installed in the Blue Frame's head, and instead of beam weapons it's armed with a pair of assault knives and a handheld torpedo launcher.
